Solo w/ ol Faithful.
I had been wanting to do this for years. As a seasonal worker of the great outdoors, by the time my work season came to a close and the wounds had healed from the hard work done, there was a very small window before the snow flew and we’d trade in our boots for skies.
I had heard good things about this hiking trail and how it was fully run by volunteers. A small group of local nature loves mixed with outdoor enthusiast motivated to come out and pitch in: is the dream team behind the Sunshine Coast Trail.
One day in late September 2018, before the rains had set in out our coastal climate, Chai and I crossed the Straight of Georgia, and headed out to see it for ourselves.
